Wild Child's component - the washed Colombia Montalve - hails from Tolima, Colombia's largest coffee producing region and is a regional lot from The Montalvo Association of Farmers and Specialty Coffee (AGPROCEM). The AGPROCEM exists to focus on direct trade, environmental preservation and a higher life quality for farmers. What sets them apart from the commercial supply chain is their quality control and lot separation capability - lots are segregated by profile and sold as bespoke traceable microlots, much like this one.
Until recently, much of Tolima's coffee growing area was considered dangerous due to years of armed conflict. Today, accessibility has increased and now more than ever we're able to enjoy the nutty, tangy, fruity, and creamy-bodied coffees the region is renowned for.
