Artificer Coffee

At Artificer, coffee is the whole menu and the sole focus. Founded by experienced coffee professionals Dan Yee and Shoji Sasa, this small Surry Hills roaster and cafe takes its name from a word meaning skilled artisan, a fitting reflection of its approach. Each coffee is selected for its individual qualities and roasted to bring those qualities forward, rather than to fit a fixed flavour brief. Buying smaller quantities more frequently keeps the selection moving, giving drinkers fresh opportunities to explore coffees from around the world. Inside, American oak, brushed brass and a handful of bar stools create a pared-back setting where nothing competes with what’s in the cup. From sourcing to roasting to brewing, every decision serves the same purpose: delicious coffee that expresses its origin.
