Filter coffee is, for many, the purest expression of what coffee has to offer. Without the intensity of espresso extraction or the pressure of a machine doing the heavy lifting, filter brewing places the full weight of flavour squarely on the bean. Our collection of specialty filter coffee beans has been curated in conjunction with some of Australia’s most celebrated specialty roasters and are ideal for whatever your filter brewing method is - including V60, a Chemex, an AeroPress, or a simple batch brewer.

African coffees dominate the filter world for good reason; particularly those from Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, and Burundi, where natural and washed processing produces the kind of berry, citrus, and floral notes that make filter devotees evangelical. Central American offerings bring their own charm, boasting stone fruit sweetness, chocolate depth, and earthy complexity that rewards a slower sip.

Our current range of coffee beans for filter pulls from some of Australia's finest specialty roasters. Padre Coffee's Bookkisa is a natural Ethiopian, with berry and caramel warmth and Market Lane Coffee's El Carmen is a washed Colombian with stone fruit clarity. Legend Coffee Roasters' Mbilima brings citrus and florals from Rwanda, while Sample Coffee Roasters offers two standouts, the natural Burundian Mutana and the washed Rwandan Kibirizi, both bright and fruit-driven. Small Batch Coffee Roasters' Wilder is a honey-processed Colombian with chocolate and sweet fruit character; Standing Room Coffee's El Sol a natural Guatemalan with chocolate and spice. From Maker Coffee, the Seasonal Filter is a natural Ethiopian with berries and citrus. Proud Mary Coffee rounds things out with two light roasts; the washed Kenyan Peachy Keen and the natural Nicaraguan Rainbow's End and Blume Coffee's Sunshine Espresso closes the collection as an omni-roasted Guatemalan that works beautifully as a filter.

Unlike espresso beans, filter coffee beans are typically roasted lighter which helps to preserve the flavour profile and provides a more complex array of fruit-forward notes, and a clarity in the cup. Whether you're brewing on a V60, a Chemex, an AeroPress, or a simple batch brewer, the right filter bean transforms your morning ritual into something genuinely worth waking up for.
